Wanderlust Wednesday: Historic Benton Hot Springs

Looking for a secluded, magical, mountainous, Californian getaway this Summer?

Well, we are! In fact, we just made our reservations at one of my favorite bed and breakfasts in the Mammoth Mountain area, Historic Benton Hot Springs

For the third year in a row now (we’re forming a tradition), me and my man make the trek to June Lake, CA in July for the June Lake Triathlon. It’s one of the most beautiful triathlon courses in California! The first year I didn’t race, the second year I did race… and this third year I’ll be back to watch from the sidelines again.

In the past, we have always made a post-race point to drive down that dirt road, past the green barn (Californians, you know what I’m talking about) to find the best, non-occupied hot spring tub to take a dip in (see image below)… mind you, after an intense weekend of mountain camping AND lots of triathlon-style exercise!

This year we are stepping it up a notch. We booked a campsite complete with private hot spring tub for the first night (1st image below)… and a room in their B&B (where they also have tubs: 2nd image below) for the second night, post-race.

This place is amazing… Whether you are camping or staying in their B&B, you can enjoy the secluded hot springs tubs in a glorious, relaxing atmosphere. Plus, the morning’s breakfast at the B&B is just about to die for!!!

Note: Whether yours or someone else’s, there will be nudity. Keep in mind; the tubs are all clothing optional (in the campgrounds and at the B&B).
